THE ART OF SELF-CARE

Saturday, January 4, 2025
12:30 - 4 pm, $145
Location: Vancouver, WA
All levels welcome/All supplies included

Making art can significantly reduce stress-related hormones in the body and can be a great way to express emotions and release feelings of tension. In this fun class I’ll share how I do this with games, doodles, and quick sketches.

Being creative can take many forms, so let’s find what’s right for you. These relaxing exercises can also be used to capture memories from a trip, relax at home, create with friends, and capture ideas while they are still fresh.

I often work in a sketchbook when I’m on the go, where my style must be more relaxed because I have limited time or resources. But you can use anything you have available because the materials you use don’t change the boost you’ll get from it! I use these exercises myself, so I’ve got fun stories to share as I use my own sketchbooks as examples.

You’ll also learn my 90-second sketching technique which is accessible to anyone with even the most basic materials (including drawing on receipts and cocktail napkins). The materials you use don’t change the boost you’ll get from it.

All supplies for this workshop will be provided for you! Don't worry if you haven't tried anything like this before, we’re just going to play with some fun materials and see what happens.
