CREATIVE FLOW PERSONAL RETREATS

During our time together, you’ll paint alongside me, working on your own projects while we engage in thoughtful conversations about technique, process, and the journey of being an artist.
Whether you’re just starting out or you have years of practice, this personalized experience will allow you to focus on your specific goals, providing the structure and support to help you grow.
You’ll walk away with a stronger understanding of encaustic painting, with new skills to achieve your artistic goals, and a deeper connection to your unique creative process.

WHAT TO EXPECT
This retreat offers the perfect opportunity to build on what you’ve already learned and devote focused time to the techniques you’ve been working to master. I’ll be painting alongside you, providing guidance, answering questions, and offering encouragement as we work together.
Full access to my equipment, tools, and paint. All you have to bring are your panels.
Up to 6 hours of studio time per day, for up to 18 hours total
Lunch daily, along with snacks and beverages

SCHEDULE
Each day will follow the flow of a working artist’s routine—from preparing the studio in the morning to reviewing your progress at the end of the day. You’ll experience what it’s like to balance productivity and reflection, and we’ll carve out time for deeper exploration, whether that’s sketching together, exploring the meaning behind your paintings, or learning the best methods for finishing and exhibiting your work.
This retreat goes beyond a typical workshop by offering hands-on, tailored instruction in the tools, equipment, and studio setup I use every day. I’ll share my favorite encaustic tools, tips for combining wax with other media, and strategies for maintaining a smooth, efficient workflow in the studio.
This retreat is ideal for artists who are already comfortable working in encaustic and can work independently. While you don’t need to be an expert, a basic understanding of encaustic painting will help you get the most out of this immersive experience. If you need information on nearby accommodations, I’m happy to provide recommendations.
REGISTRATION
The fee for all three days is $950, or include a friend for $1600.
Email me with a description of what you’d like to work on during your retreat, an idea of what would make this a successful experience for you, and three images of your recent paintings so I can get a sense of your current work and style. Please also include your name, location, phone number, and preferred dates from the list below.

July - These dates are reserved
August 1, 2, 3 (Local events include Gallery Openings or Vancouver Arts and Music Festival)
September 12, 13, 14 (Local events are TBD but there’s always something creative going on!)
