2025 Whidbey Island Encaustic Retreat

  • Pacific Northwest Art School 15 Northwest Birch Street Coupeville, WA, 98239 United States (map)

Creating with encaustic is a dream come true for painters who also enjoy adding dimension and texture to their work. The beeswax-based paint comes in luscious colors that you can use to easily add depth and texture to your paintings.

Encaustic is one of the most forgiving mediums available, allowing you to "undo" virtually anything, giving you the freedom to be fearless and let your creativity flow. No painting or drawing experience is necessary for this class; just an adventurous spirit!

We’ll combine several mediums within layers of richly colored wax paint, including watercolor, professional artists crayons, fabric, fiber, and oil/pigment sticks to build up depth and texture.
