AN EARLY SPRING (CLEANING) & SALE
One day I just snapped.
That was it, things had to change. I grabbed a huge tote and filled it with things from the house and studio until it was full. And then I grabbed another one, and another. These were things I had purchased and loved, but I knew that now someone else could enjoy them too.
So what triggered this early spring cleaning? It started with one little painting.
While trying to find just the right place for it, I kept coming across things that needed to be dusted, or repaired, or that I hadn’t used in years. It’s easy to overlook those things when they’ve been there long enough, but my new painting helped me see these vignettes in a new light and got me inspired.
My assistant and I had already been cleaning out my studio for the last few months to make room for some exciting new projects in 2023, so I guess that seed had already been planted.
Lots of folks say that they don’t have room for any more art, but my attitude is a little different. If I love it, I buy it! If that means something else has to go or get packed under a bed for a while, that’s fine with me. I don’t have my art out all at once anyway, which allows me to easily refresh my living space whenever I feel the need.
Trying to place that painting led me to shift art all over my home, but it was lots of fun and now it looks like a brand new collection! Things that had been tucked in dark corners or on lower shelves are now either gone or giving me joy every day. The best part was that it reduced the visual clutter and gave me room for more art! ;)
If you’re ready to find your own inspiration for a refresh, my big holiday sale might be the perfect place to start. I have some beautiful paintings on sale at 50% off, until November 25, 2022. Happy shopping!
